Fairground Weekend Saturday 24th - Sunday 25th July | |
|
All of Hollycombe's resident fairground rides plus a classic visiting ride - a 1948 Fly-O-Plane ride, built by the Eyerly Aircraft Company to train pilots. Brough to the UK for the 1951 Festival of Britain in Battersea, it is believed to be one of only two surviving examples and is the only one still travelling.
Also present on this weekend will be John Morley's
traditional Old Time Vintage Arcade which includes an array of vintage slot machines spanning 100 years and includes slot machines, fruit and novelty machines Fortune Teller and What The Butler Saw (note there will be a small additional charge for the arcade). Also visiting is a lovely 1950's Winnards Train ride which is suitable for children and adults, and Albert Reynold's Juvenile Dobby set roundabout. Classic Car Day - 1st August | |
| A chance to see a fantastic selection of Classic and Vintage cars which are brought to Hollycombe by their owners. The photos below show a selection of vehicles from the 2009 Classic Car Day. A reduced admission fee will be charged to all visitors arriving in a classic car - more details will be available closer to the event. | |

Children's Day and Teddy Bear's Picnic - 15th August | |
| Children's days are extra special for the younger members of the family and the Teddy Bear's Picnic was a big hit in 2009. Children's entertainer Mr Giant will do balloon modelling, mix and mingle, and give magic shows. There will be a free bouncy castle and face painting (for a small additional charge). | |

Steam Rally - 11th and 12th September | |
|
This is the biggest event of the year at Hollycombe. The photos are from 2009 when there were twelve traction engines in steam, plus two Narrow Gauge steam railway engines. The first weekend of the season ! Razzle Dazzle lived up to its name with stunning new artwork. There was a very popular free Easter Egg Trail for all visiting children with questions and facts about Hollycombe and Hollycombe's rides. |

Magic Lantern Shows - Sunday 2nd and Monday 3rd May | |
| Magic Lantern shows, the forefunner of film, were shown in the Bioscope throughout the Sunday and Monday afternoons giving a taste of the very earliest type of cinema. Also performing on the Monday were the Sompting Village Morris dancers who entertained crowds by the narrow gauge railway station. | |

Punch & Judy Children's Day - 16th May | |
|
Children's days are extra special for the younger members of the family. There was traditional fun throughout the afternoon with entertainment from Professor Morris and the Pride of Wessex Punch & Judy and a Punch and Judy themed
treasure hunt for all children. Also present was the Bruksbanen model railway where the visitors young or old, could try their hand at shunting wagons to form up the train, or simply operate the points for another engine driver. | |

Steam In Miniature - 22th and 23th May | |
| As much miniature steam as we can muster, on both road and rail! - the photos below are from Saturday 22nd May. The Steam in Miniature event hosted a wide variety of miniature steam models including 5” gauge and 7.25” gauge miniature railway locos and an extensive selection of road traction engines, many of are representatives of the West Surrey Model Traction Engine Club. Saturday saw six locomotives in steam on the Miniature Railway. Resident Bagnall 0-4-0 Saddle Tank, Tess and 0-4-0 Romulus, Lisa, were joined by visiting locos which included more Romulus and Bagnall designs. The miniature railway operated passenger and goods trains and will exhibit some double heading, with steam on the 5” gauge ground level railway for demonstration purposes. Railway Weekend 5th-6th June - three railways in Steam ! | |
| The focus is on as much activity as practical on all three of Hollycombe’s Railways plus live steam model railways. On the Narrow Gauge Railway, resident Jerry M will be joined by three other Hunslets - Lilla, Britomart and Edward Sholto, in use on both passenger and demonstration freight trains with some double heading included. The Standard Gauge saw its first steam operation for several years with the visiting Société John Cockerill 0-4-0 VBT locomotive, Yvonne. The miniature railway was also be a hive of activity with multiple locos in steam and a visiting miniature Hunslet. | |

Local Locomotion Club Rally Sat 12th and Sun 13th June | |
| Hollycombe were joined by the Local Locomotion Club for their Rally, with a superb selection of classic cars, classic motorcycles and vintage commercial vehicles. | |

Children's Magic Day - 13th June | |
|
An extra special day for children with free entertainement provided by "Silly Scott the Children's Favourite Entertainer". Silly Scott entertained with Magic Shows for children in the Fairground Gallery and mingled with the visitors in the Fairground making balloon models for children. Also present was the Bruksbanen model railway where the visitors young or old, could try their hand at shunting wagons to form up the train, or simply operate the points for

Circus Fun Children's Day - 11th July | |
| Children's days are extra special for the younger members of the family. Circus Fun Day featured the clowns Tricky Nicky and Zak who were be stilt walking around Hollycombe and then running circus workshops for children. The workshops encouraged children to have a go at juggling, plate spinning and tight rope walking (but only just off the floor !). | |
