Railway weekend 5th & 6th June 2010

All three railways in Steam!

The focus is on as much activity as practical on all three of Hollycombe’s Railways including visiting locomotives where possible, plus live steam model railways and a variety of displays.
  • Four engines ! On the Narrow Gauge Railway, there is a Hunslet theme with visiting locos Lilla, Britomart and Edward Sholto, plus resident Jerry M, in use on both passenger and demonstration freight trains with some double heading included.
  • The Standard Gauge has seen its first steam operation for several years with the visiting Société John Cockerill 0-4-0 VBT locomotive, Yvonne.
  • The Miniature Railway is expected to have Four locos in steam and visiting locos if available, including passenger and freight train operation and some double heading giving a wider variety and more photographic opportunities.
  • Indoors, there are extensive live steam model railways featuring incredible detail and intensive activity from the locos - from the massive Broke Brick Mountain layout to a railway in a CD case !
