Jerry M (1895)

Jerry M, a Hunslet 0-4-0 Mills class saddle tank steam locomotive number 638 was built in 1895 at the Hunsley Engine Works, Leeds, and supplied to the Dinorwic slate quarries. It was originally named Vaenol, but was later given the name of a successful Derby winner belonging to the quarry owners. Jerry M, and sister loco Cackler, were the largest narrow gauge locos in the world's second largest slate quarry.  Jerry M was acquired by Hollycombe in 1967 when the quarry closed down.
